Little House on the Prairie

Just back from an amazing weekend in San Francisco with my bestie and her family. These pics are actually from last week, but I'm just getting round to posting them.

These bangals belonged to my Grandma, I've had them for years and their still my favorites.

And this woven leather belt was my moms. I have a tendency to steal her belts, haha. I wear this thing so much that it's starting to fall apart, which makes me really sad. I'll keep wearing it though, until it disintigrates around me. This dress was another one of my Ross finds. I always find the cutest (and cheapest) things at Ross, I think this dress was $9.99! I love the fluttery sleeves on it and the sweet little embroidering. My co-worker told me it was a little "little house on the prairie." I think my style confuses her sometimes, haha. These photos were taken behind one of the abandoned hotels that litter the Stateline area in Tahoe. Their eerie and kind of creepy to wander around, but the little courtyard I found behind this one was full of such pretty light, I couldn't resist getting some outfit shots.

I'll get around to posting some pictures from the weekend when I don't feel like such rubbish. I had a cold before the trip and spending the weekend running around during the day and barhopping at night is not the wisest way to get over an illness. So worth it though.

Adeu, lovelies.

The Truth or Something Beautiful?

It snowed a foot last night. Let me repeat that. It snowed. A FOOT. In April. FML.
Due to this tragedy, I'm taking a personal day, staying in my PJ's, online window-shopping, and watching a Mad Men marathon.

In the spirit of 1960's awesomeness, I'm sharing this amazing lady with you. I'm sure she's old news by now, but I'm usually a bit behind the curve. Either way, her voice is lovely, the styling in this video is amazing, and that boy is scrumptious. Her name is Paloma Faith and her album is called "Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful."
Enjoy, dearies.

Not All Who Wander Are Lost...

Finally! The snow is melting and the sun is shining!! I can't tell you how long I've been ready for summer to come. Tahoe springs are a mess, mud and melting snow and beautiful, warm, sunshiney days followed by frigid cold nights and the occasional freak snow storm. Supposedly we're getting another one on Monday. Arraaggghhhh!! Give me sun! Give me long days at the beach! Give me sandalls and dresses without tights and warmth. I swear, one more snowflake and I'm gonna snap.
