It's allright. It's ok.

I have a serious girl-crush on Zoey Deschanel...and, honestly, who doesn't? She's beyond adorable. How cute is that red and white dress at the end? Want. Need. Must have.

Moats and Boats and Waterfalls

Hello lovelies, these are actually from Thursday, when it still looked a little bit like spring outside. Now, unfortunatly, we have another two feet of fresh snow on the ground. We were so close! I  am so ready for spring, this weekend is supposed to be the last of the snow though, so, fingers crossed!

Viva La Vie Boheme!

I am loving this womans style. I never wear matching socks, but it is somehow not nearly as cool as when she does it.

Window Shopper,

Sometimes, I like to torture myself and go window shopping. This is where I go online shopping and try very, very hard to not go scrambling for my credit card like a mad woman and put myself into terrible debt all for some pretty things. Today was such a day. You'll be glad to hear I haven't blown my credit limit (yet), but I did find some beautiful stuff to put on my "When I Win the Lotto Wishlist." It's getting rather long...

Hello beautiful...

I love the color on this one, sort of a dusty rose shade.

I'm pretty sure you can't help smiling when you're shampooing your hair behind this vibrant shower curtain.

A confession: I hate having my picture taken. I just don't think I'm very photogenic and I feel so stilted and awkward in front of the lens. But, part of my whole "Remade in 2010" resolution is becoming more comfortable with myself, and I've decided that the way for this is to start taking pictures of myself, Style Portraits to be more accurate. I love the community the fashion blogging world has established and would love to become even a small part of it. So, here you are, my first outfit post! OMG!

This is actually from last week...it took me a while to work up the nerve to finally post it. All that white stuff  on the ground is snow...hence the bundled up look. I'm so ready for summer, it's not even funny, I'm over being freezing cold all the time.

Outfit Details: Buckle Boots by Wild Diva via Savvy Boutique, Leggings by Forever21, Trench by Guess via Burlington Coat Factory, Scarf via Abercrombie.

I'm also slowly figuring out my new Canon Rebel XSi. It's awesome, but it is a whole lot of camera...any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've got to head to yoga now. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Break the Lock if it Don't Fit

Florence and the Machine. Kiss With a Fist.

So, I'm one of those annoying people who find an artist or band that they like and just plays them to death. I compulsively tell people about singers/bands/etc. that I like, insisting that they listen to them. Florence and the Machine is my most recent obsession. First of all, this girl has some pipes! Ugh, that voice! I'm so jealous!! And just to make the world that much more unfair, she's got that amazing red hair AND she's an incredible song writer AND she's got a kick ass sense of style.

All in all, i think I may be in love.

Why a Raven's Like a Writing Desk

Went and saw the new Alice in Wonderland last night after work, and I gotta say I enjoyed it. I like that Burton took it somewhere new, bringing Alice back to wonderland. So the movie is set after the book, when Alice is about 19. It's a lovely movie to look at, very Burton-esque. I loved all of Alice's dresses, and the entire film was styled by the amazing Colleen Atwoode, who is also responsible for the beautiful costumes in Public Enemies, Sweeny Todd, and Memoirs of a Geisha, so needless to say they were amazing.

i LOVED the hatter's hat. How gorgeous are those hat pins?

I can't find any good images of Alice's costumes. Annoying. I'll post a few when I do.

Blog Crush

I am not one for crushes. Mooning over someone unavailable to me seems pointless. I never understood the girls who got all doe-eyed and fluttery around the boy they liked, particularly if that boy was, oh, a TV star. Talk about unrequited love. So I always secretly laughed at those girls, staring adoringly up at life-size posters of Orlando Bloom in full Lord of the Rings Elf regalia. How silly. How lame.

Oh, how things have changed. And it's all at the hands of the bewitching Karla Deras of Karla's Closet. I wait eagerly every week for her updates and outfit posts, and then coo and sigh over them adoringly. That bag! That jacket! Those shoes!!

I'm sure there are loads of you who are familiar with Karla, she's something of a celebrity in the Fashion Blogging community, or so I gather. But I just wanted to add my little ode of unrequited love to her here.

This crazy girl-crush I have on Karla Deras is at least 2 and a half years old and it's quite pathetic, really. I think it has something to do with the fact that she is pretty much my style soul mate. Ladylike with a bit of an edge, she has an incredible sense of fun in her personal style, combining color, texture and prints in a way that seems effortless yet put together. Ruffles with leather corsets. Stripper boots paired with oversize sweaters and sweet, full skirted cocktail dresses. Jeans, neon blazers, tailored trousers, leopard print clutches, tutus, military details, dramatic gowns, I swear, I want to wear every single look she shows on her site. She makes everything look easy and totally accessible and modern, but with a undercurrent of old school glamor.

As you can see her photos are all beautiful and delicious to look at.

So, if you don't know of her, you should seriously go check out her blog. If you do know of her, go back. Look through her older looks, soak up all that awesome and be envious of how damn gorgeous she is. I'm going to go swoon some more, have a good day everyone!
